American Cemetery and Memorial :-

The American Cemetery provides a quiet and peaceful place to retreat from Manila’s commotion. It is near Makati commercial center is visited by tourists and World War II veterans. The cemetery on a hillside contains thousands of graves in white marble in circular pattern of those who died in the war. The names of the people missing in action are engraved in the marble columns. Huge wall mosaics shows the battle scenes during WWII. A small chapel is also located here.

Subic Bay Freeport Zone:-

The Subic Bay is a project on the place of former US Naval base. It got buried in ash during the volcanic eruption of Mt Pinatubo on 1991. Now it is transformed into a buzzing commercial hub and eco-tourism, only 5 mins from the International airport. The area is enclosed in a security fence and is a dense forest with fauna and flora, like rare bats and butterflies. There are also beaches which are lovely & unspoiled to enjoy, watersport activities, forest trails, coral reefs, exceptional scenery and exploring shipwrecks, shopping centers (duty-free) and many sports facilities.

Manila:-
Manila’s oldest part is the Intramuros (medieval Spanish walled enclave) on the Pasig River’s bank, packed with churches and historic buildings; many are being restored or in the process.

Rizal Park Manila:-

The Rizal Park (143 acre) is named after Dr Jose Rizal, famous Philippine philosopher, writer and anti-colonialist.
The park is used for entertainment and recreation is the South East Asia largest park.
The features are many ornamental gardens, a skating rink and a chess plaza. In a pond, miniature Philippines archipelago recreated on the park’s east side.
There are public buildings and museums also in the park. After sunset light and sound exhibit of Dr Jose Rizal’s martyrdom is featured.

National Museum of the Philippines, Manila:-

The comprehensive and large National Museum of Philippines showcases and preserves the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the Philippines islands by collections housed in 2 different buildings.
There are other exhibits of zoology, botany, geology, art and anthropology.
The archaeological exhibit of the skull of the oldest human ‘Tabon Man’; found in archipelago. The preserved remains of the Filipino People and treasures of Spanish galleon ‘the San Diego’ that sank in sea in 1600AD.

National Museum

It is situated in the old town of Batavia. Earlier the Dutch colonized the city.

A group of Dutch collectors contributed;, archeology, ethnography, ceramics, prehistoric artifacts, historical relics, geography and heraldics to the museum. The museum exhibits 100,000 plus cultural objects.

Chinatown

Typical Chinese houses & shop distinguishes Glodok, as well as churches and temples. Jakarta’s oldest Chinese temple, built in 1650 is nearby.

A place good for cheap Chinese dishes. There are 2 old Buddhist Temples –, Jalan Vihara Dharma Bhakti and Da Shi Miao at Kemenangan. The Catholic Church Santa Maria de Fatima is worth visiting.

National Monument

This striking two sectioned structure is covered with 35 kgs of gold and houses– a meditation hall and historical museum. It is Jakarta’s no.1 famous landmark.

The construction took 14 years (1961 to 1975). Fierce nationalism era symbolizes this structure. The building reveals a panoramic vista and priceless view of Jakarta and has lift access.

Ragunan Zoo

Established in 1864 which is 16km facing south of the Jakarta city Ragunan Zoo in the Pasar Minggu area. This large zoo homes 4,000 animals and has a good collection of Indonesian Komodo dragons, the orangutans and gorillas and other wildlife. This is the best zoo in Indonesia. The setting of lush tropical contrasts Jakarta’s urban sprawl.

Indonesia Miniature Park

This 100 hectares park represents 27 provinces in Indonesia. The accurate regional architecture & outstanding characteristics of the provinces are shown. Events, cultural performances and local delicacies of each provinces are regularly prepared.

It has orchid garden with many varieties of Indonesian orchid are grown, a fauna museum, a bird park, recreational grounds, swimming pool and restaurants.

You can stay overnight. It is open every day of a week.

Maritime Museum

Built in 1774, the building design justifies your visit. Inside, is filled with maritime relics and insightful photographs. Someone with a career or hobby in sailing will appreciate the collection. Only the building front part of the Ancient City Wall around Batavia (old Jakarta) still stands today.

National Planetarium:-

This blue-domed planetarium built on a hillock near KL Lake Gardens. The space theatre screens movies and space shows. On a full moon night, the 14-inch telescope in the Observatory, the heavenly bodies can be observed. Space theme park extends replicas of ancient observatories. The planetarium & the National Museum are connected by an overhead walking bridge.

KUALA LUMPUR RAILWAY STATION

The station, built in 1910 is a heritage building which reflects the Moorish architecture influence. In 1986, it was renovated extensively for air-conditioning and modern facilities. This station connects to most towns and cities

Batu Caves:-

Located north of Kuala Lumpur city, The Batu Caves is a part of Selangor state. The huge limestone hill is big mound shaped. The 272 steps in the middle leads to its main cavern entrance. It is a religious worship place for Hindus. The main cave has altars & statues. Walking past the caves leads to an opening in the top of the hill, where sunlight shilloutes into the cave.

Stroll up the steps leads to another cave,’ Dark Cave’. Fauna of diverse range, such as snakes, bats and spiders. Though restricted, 2-km Dark Cave tours available to explore, however. While exploring, watch out for menacing monkeys that steal your bags for food when unattended.

National Museum:-

The National Museum (or Museum Negara) is located outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, near Lake Gardens (Malaysia’s main museum). Built in 1963, the building is a cocktail of traditional Malay & modern architecture. For visitors transport, a reconstructed old railway train, a vintage automobile (Proton Saga car) and even bullock carts.

The two winged museum exhibits variety of dioramas, galleries of historical relics, cultural items, handicrafts, artifacts, weapons, currencies and flora and fauna. Special theme exhibitions are held to educate & enthrall visitors, from time to time.
