National Art Gallery:-
Built in 1932, a historical building, Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin (former Majestic hotel) was converted into The National Art Gallery. The galleries exhibits range of permanent and temporary art pieces. The permanent collection covers over 2,500 art pieces (both local & international artists).periodically, workshops, seminars, competitions and educational programmes are organized.
National Planetarium:-
This blue-domed planetarium built on a hillock near KL Lake Gardens. The space theatre screens movies and space shows. The main hall exhibits space science like space engine (Arianne IV) of MEASAT I Spaceship (Malaysia’s 1st satellite into space). On a full moon night, the 14-inch telescope in the Observatory, the heavenly bodies can be observed. Space theme park extends replicas of ancient observatories. The planetarium & the National Museum are connected by an overhead walking bridge.
KUALA LUMPUR RAILWAY STATION
The station, built in 1910 is a heritage building which reflects the Moorish architecture influence. In 1986, it was renovated extensively for air-conditioning and modern facilities. This station connects to most towns and cities
Batu Caves:-
Located north of Kuala Lumpur city, The Batu Caves is a part of Selangor state. The huge limestone hill is big mound shaped. The 272 steps in the middle leads to its main cavern entrance. It is a religious worship place for Hindus. The main cave has altars & statues. Walking past the caves leads to an opening in the top of the hill, where sunlight shilloutes into the cave.
Stroll up the steps leads to another cave,’ Dark Cave’. Fauna of diverse range, such as snakes, bats and spiders. Though restricted, 2-km Dark Cave tours available to explore, however. While exploring, watch out for menacing monkeys that steal your bags for food when unattended.
National Museum:-
The National Museum (or Museum Negara) is located outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, near Lake Gardens (Malaysia’s main museum). Built in 1963, the building is a cocktail of traditional Malay & modern architecture. For visitors transport, a reconstructed old railway train, a vintage automobile (Proton Saga car) and even bullock carts.
The two winged museum exhibits variety of dioramas, galleries of historical relics, cultural items, handicrafts, artifacts, weapons, currencies and flora and fauna. Special theme exhibitions are held to educate & enthrall visitors, from time to time.
